OXY-FUEL

Oxy-fuel technology is a technique that involves the use of pure oxygen, instead of simple air, in the combustion phase for melting glass.
First in Italy to adopt this technology, which allows us to improve the efficiency of furnaces and limit the emission of fumes into the air.

We heat around 2,000 families with the district heating system in Milan and Sesto San Giovanni.

GLASS RECYCLING

With the use of over 90% recycled material for the production of Maya bottles, Vetrobalsamo boasts a top position in the ranking of companies that recycle at national and European level.

WATER RECOVERY

Vetrobalsamo has always been equipped with closed-circuit systems designed to completely reuse process water; water consumption is only given for civil use, and for replenishment due to evaporation.

ENERGY - SAVING LED

The energy requalification of the company spaces is guaranteed by over 190 LED light points, which allow for high energy savings – approximately 74%. The choice of LED fittings has allowed for zero disposal of polluting substances

ELECTRICAL HANDLING

Vetrobalsamo has equipped itself with a fleet of electric traction vehicles. Our forklifts are approximately 60% electrically powered.

H2GLASS-HORIZON22

Decarbonising the glass industry with hydrogen technologies H2GLASS is an EU-funded project. It is committed to accelerating decarbonisation in the glass industry by developing and applying the technology stack necessary to achieve full H2 combustion in glass manufacturing plants. The consortium is made up of six industrial demonstrators representing the main players in the glass and aluminium industry, together with a group of highly qualified industrial and research institutes. Together, they will develop, test and validate H2GLASS technologies and demonstrate their transferability to other hard-to-abate sectors.
